Merry Christmas 2011!!!!

This Christmas was one of the GREATEST so far, and we received the BEST gift of all, our precious DJ!!!  We had a wonderful time with family and friends, and DJ got spoiled with gifts!  Thanks to everyone for all of the thoughtful and generous gifts. :)

Christmas Eve, we had a great afternoon at the Brewster's new home in Tewksbury (Michael, Laurie, Sophie & Olivia...thanks for having us!).  Everything was wonderful and the house looks amazing!  It was also great to spend time with Mimi & Grampy, Uncle Danny and the entire Umbro family.

Later that evening, we traveled to my old neighborhood in Woburn.  We spent time with the Nelson's, Zagami's, Chasse's, Hein's & Mucci's.  Another fun filled evening with GREAT friends. 

Christmas morning, DJ opened his gifts (well Mommy & Daddy opened, but DJ watched). :) :)  Then we traveled to CT to the Alexander's home (Rich, Jen, Michael & Mia) for Christmas Dinner.  We also got to see Ray & Lucy, Chris & Ava, Vic Jr., Josh & Tiana.  Jen made an amazing beef tenderloion (with gorganzola sauce..YUM!), roasted tomatoes & basil, and roasted rosemary potatoes!  Everything was delicious...as usual!

Thanks to ALL of you who made this Christmas special and fun.  And to the rest of our family who we didn't get to see, we hope you had a Very Merry Christmas!  We love you all so much!

DJ's 4 Months Check-Up!

We had DJ's 4 month check-up yesterday and these are his NEW stats.

He weighs 16 lbs, 3 oz....CHUNKA MUNKA! (as Grampy says)
He is 26 & 1/2 inches long

The doctor said that he is ready for rice cereal. Yay!! So, we are going to try tomorrow for the first time and i'll be sure to post a video and pictures. :)  He's growing up way too fast!  He is also starting to sit in his bumbo seat and enjoying tummy time.  He's started to roll onto his side, but hasn't done the official roll over yet.  I'll be sure to keep you updated.

Mommy & Daddy are very much looking forward to DJ's 1st Christmas!  We will be spending Christmas Eve with the Brewster's AND our favorite neighborhood friends in the Wu.  Then we are leaving for CT on Christmas morning to spend with the Alexander's and Chris & Ava!  Can't wait! :)

DJ - 4 Months Old Pictures

Hello there everyone,

I know i've been slacking on the updates, but i'm finally back to work and getting use to being a new mommy.  It's really the BEST feeling in the whole world and we are sooooooooo in love with our little boy.  He is smiling all of the time now and i'm loving every second of it.  Here are some of my favorite pictures of DJ from the last 4 months.  Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 

Derek Joseph "DJ" is Born!!! :)

Well, I guess I spoke too soon in my previous post. Later that day, and on my due date, I gave birth to the most handsome boy in the whole world...Derek Joseph ("DJ") Camps-Campins.

It was an indescribable experience, but by far the happiest moment of my life. Luckily, everything happened pretty fast (1 hour and 55 minutes of hard labor to be exact). I'm not going to downplay labor, cause it was the most pain i've ever felt, but it was worth every minute of it. DJ came out kicking and screaming...I guess he was ready to make his appearance, and we were very happy about that.

Being a mom is by far the BEST feeling in the whole world. Derek and I feel truly blessed for having received this wonderful gift. It's something i've longed for my whole life, and there are no words to describe how unbelievably amazing I feel right now, and how much joy, happiness and love I have for this new little miracle in my life. DJ is so beautiful to me, and I love that he is a part of our family. I'm looking forward to watching him grow, seeing him smile, laugh, walk and talk. I'm looking forward to ALL of it. And although I know that there will also be tough times and sad times, I will love him unconditionally, and I will always be there for him and support him.

Thanks to EVERYONE for all of the best wishes, love, and support. We have the most amazing family and friends, and we are so thankful. We are very excited for DJ to meet his loving family and friends.

DUE DATE IS HERE...but no Baby CC yet. :( :(

Today is my official due date!  Baby CC isn't giving me any signs of his arrival...I guess he is really COZY in there!  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and not much has changed.  I'm still 3 cm dilated, and the baby is 60% effaced.  The doc said it could happen any day now, and to be ready.  If the baby does not show up this week, she said that she will most likely induce me next Wednesday, August 17th.  I have another non-stress test this Thursday, and then we'll go from there.  Fingers crossed that Baby CC arrives sometime this week. :)

Mommy is definitely a little frustrated, but getting even more anxious and excited to meet this li'l boy!  I can't wait to hold him in my arms and see his beautiful face. :)

For the most part, i'm still feeling pretty good, sleeping well, and still working through Friday. 

Hopefully, my next post will be some VERY EXCITING NEWS and pictures too!

39 Weeks!!! ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

My due date is ONE WEEK from TODAY!  Crazy, and so hard to believe, but we are both getting very anxious and excited to meet our little boy and have him join our family.  I'm still feeling really good which leads me to believe i'm going to be LATE. :(  This little one seems very cozy in there.  I have my next appointment on Thursday, and I hope the doctor will give me some information that Baby CC is on his way!

My calendar is completely clear, and i'm trying my hardest to get lots of rest and relaxation.  It's not very easy though.  I get bored, my mind races, and i'm sick of watching the same old shows on HGTV, MTV, and Bravo.  Maybe I should start reading books.  :) 

I would definitely say that I went through my "nesting" phase over the last few weeks.  I was doing alot of cleaning, laundry, and cooking in order to prepare us once we return home from the hospital.  Our freezer is now stocked with tons of food for my sweet husband to heat up for dinners.  I made and Italian sauce, lasagnas, pulled pork, turkey chili, and froze a bunch of marinated meats, seafood, etc.

The nursery is complete, car seats have been installed, baby items have been assembled, bottles have been sanitized, baby clothes have been washed and organized, hospital bag and diaper bag have been packed, and daycare has been planned for once I return to work.  All in all, I would say we are as ready as we can be. :)

We will be sure to keep everyone updated on any baby news, updates, etc.  Thank you so much for all of the kind thoughts, best wishes, and prayers for our baby.  We love you all so much, and we are so excited to introduce you to our new bundle of joy!

36 Weeks!!!

I'm 36 weeks and have 4 more to go!  Yesterday, I had my doctor's appointment and she said that everything looks good, and the baby will be here before we know it.  Since i'm getting close, I will go to the doctor's on a weekly basis now. :)  It's hard to believe that we are so CLOSE to meeting our li'l boy.  I couldn't be more HAPPY and EXCITED about it....and a little nervous.  Just hoping for the best and most importantly a HEALTHY baby.

The nursery is ready, hospital bag is packed, and everything else is coming along. 

I'm still feeling really good and its been a fairly easy pregnancy.  I feel very lucky about that.  I've started to have some swelling in my legs and feet, but I guess that is expected in pregnancy and with the heat of the Summer.

We'll be sure to keep everyone updated with any news, and looking forward to the BIG day.

Project Nursery!

Project Nursery is well underway and coming along GREAT!  I still need to add some personal touches once we decide on a name, but so far, the nursery is looking very nice!  The navy bookcase is on backorder, and we have to put some items together, but we still have time so i'm not too worried. :)

I had my 32 week appointment yesterday, and the doctor said that my measurements are great, and the baby is positioned perfectly. :)  I'm def. starting to feel more and more movement...which is a good thing.  I'm told lots of movement means a "healthy baby". :)  Love hearing that and so reassuring.

I really think that Baby CC is going to be a tall baby....feel his legs in my ribs ALL of the time, and I still have two months to go!  Yikes!

31 Weeks Today & My Baby Shower!

Well, I finally past the 30 week mark...so EXCITING and so hard to believe that we are ALMOST there!  We can't wait to meet our li'l boy!  Today, i'm officially 31 weeks!  We had an AMAZING weekend with family & friends, and our baby shower was wonderful!  Thanks so much to our parents (Mom & Dad Brewster AND Dad CC & Momma Mickey) for throwing such a lovely shower.  We want to thank you for EVERYTHING that you do for us, AND for your constant love and support.  It means the world to us, and we are so blessed and grateful to have you in our lives. A special thanks to all of the people who traveled from afar to be here with us (Mom & Dad CC, Li'l Yvette, Jen, Mia, Julie & Tiana).  We enjoyed spending a great weekend with you.  Also, thanks to Aunt Donna for the lovely centerpieces, and to everyone who made this day special.  We love you so much. :)

Thanks to everyone for all of the thoughtful & generous gifts.  We got so many nice things, and we appreciate it so much.  Little D is one lucky boy to have so many loving people welcoming him into this world.
