12 Weeks Today!

12 weeks down and 28 more to go!!  Getting so excited and very anxious for our next ultrasound on Wednesday, February 2.  Can't wait to see how much he/she has grown.  I'm still not showing, but my pants are definitely getting tighter. :(  Hoping to buy a treadmill to keep me in shape before AND after "sweet baby CC's" arrival. :)

My latest project is to create a list of baby songs and make a cd for "mommy and daddy to be."  There are so many beautiful songs out there and listening to them gets me even more happy, excited, and a little emotional (but in a good way).  We plan on playing these songs to our children, and who knows maybe someday we'll dance to one at their wedding...tear. :(  Here are a few of our favorites.

Somewhere over the rainbow/Wonderful world ~ Israel Kamakawiwo'le
Just haven't met you yet ~ Michael Buble
My wish ~ Rascal Flats
Baby mine ~ Allison Krauss
With arms wide open ~ Creed
Having my baby ~ Paul Anka
At Last ~ Etta James
Come to me ~ Celine Dion

Plus, a whole other list of songs if its a Girl or Boy...

If it's a GIRL...
In my daughter's eyes ~ Martina McBride
I loved her first ~ Heartland
My little girl ~ Tim McGraw
Butterfly kisses ~ Bob Carlisle
Isn't she lovely ~ Stevie Wonder

If it's a BOY...
Just the two of us ~ Will Smith
A new day has come ~ Celine Dion
Danny's Song ~ Kenny Loggins
Blessed ~ Elton John
Miracle ~ Celine Dion

Please email us with special songs you hold close to your heart. :)

Baby "Gender" Party

To find out the baby's sex OR not to find out???  This is a really hard decision.  Myself personally, i've always wanted to find out ahead of time for several reasons.  Mostly because I like to plan ahead for everything!  But i'd also like to have the room ready for baby boy OR baby girl, and i'm not really a fan of the neutral themed green/yellow baby shower.

On the other hand, Derek likes the idea of being surprised!  He feels as though there aren't many surprises in life, and this would be one of the greatest surprises of all!  I do agree that the suprise would be nice, however, I don't think I can go 9 months without knowing.

In our many discussions over the topic, we have finally come to a compromise!!!  :)  When the doctor is able to reveal the sex of the baby, we are going to ask her to write it down and seal it in an envelope.  Once we are ready to find out, we are going to invite our family & close friends over for the BIG announcement.  We will open the envelope in front of everyone and announce the exciting news....IT'S A ....????  This way there is still an element of surprise. :) :)  I've been told this is called a baby "gender" party.  It will be a great way to get together with family and friends, and share this exciting news with the ones we love so much.  This party will most likely take place in April, and there will be more details to come!!!

Baby Names???  Another interesting topic in our household and not a topic that Derek likes to discuss very often.  I'm usually hounding him....while he continues to tell me that we still have PLENTY of time.  Of course, this just irks me cause i'm so use to planning ahead for everything!

As far as boys names are concerned, we agree on 3 names that we are totally in love with!!

Now girls names are a completely different story!!  We can barely agree on one name.  And oddly enough, we both THINK its a girl so we'll have to try really hard and agree on something.  But at least finding out the sex ahead of time will give us more time to figure it out. :)

Upon my husband's request, i'm no longer aloud to discuss baby names with anyone...or at least not in front of him.  ha ha!  Just kidding D.  He wants there to be some element of surprise.

If anyone has any name suggestions, please feel free to comment or email us.  We would love to hear your thoughts....and we especially need help with girl names.

Almost 10 Weeks!!!

Thursday, January 6, 2011

He/She is finally starting to look like a BABY!!!  The ultrasound today was so amazing!!  Seeing the head, limbs, movement, heartbeat, etc....it's finally starting to feel real.   There's a baby growing inside of me, and I couldn't be any happier.  I've dreamt about this moment my whole life, and its finally happening.  So very exciting!

Now that i'm preggo, I find that I have alot of spare time.  During this time, i've been reading lots of baby books which i've found very helpful.  However, i'm not sure I believe everything I read.   Can I really have 2 alcoholic drinks a day?...WOW, that sounds FABULOUS...but I DONT think its a good for the baby.  AND can eating too many nuts or peanutbutter make the baby have a higher risk for developing peanut allergies...oh nooooo! :(  I guess i'll have to cut back on english muffins with pb every morning...LOL.  I'd also like to thank the doctor who wrote one of the books i'm reading which includes "Tips for Dad".  The first tip was to clean the house without being asked.  SWEET!!  Second tip (for people with pets) to take over all pet duties (take the dog out, feed him, bath him, etc)...I'M LOVING THIS!!  So needless to say, Derek has been VERY helpful, and I appreciate it. :)

Morning Sickness...???  What is that???  Yes, i've been very lucky NOT to experience this thus far.  I KNOW, I should thank my lucky stars.  :)  Other than feeling tired sometimes, i'm feeling really GOOD.  Only other symptom I have (and not even sure this is considered a symptom)...BUT I constantly dream of DESSERTS/SWEETS.  Very odd but quite comical.  Some of my dreams have included croissants (dipped in chocolate), apple cider donuts, cupcakes filled with candy, peanutbutter brownies...etc.  I'm sure they will continue, and i'll gladly keep you updated on these delicious creations that keep popping into my head at night. :) :)  My sister-in-law thinks this means we're having a GIRL!  Either way, we'll be very happy...BOY or GIRL...just want a healthy baby.
